Museum of Flight

Very big day today. My Grandpa took me to the Museum of Flight and we got to see the plane that he flew in Vietnam. It was really cool. There were planes everywhere. Hanging from the ceiling and on the ground. There are all types of planes represented. Old fighter planes, the first Pan-Am plane, etc. I was pooped out after all that sensory overload.
Super fun day hanging out with my Grammy and Grandpa. They have to leave soon. Boo hoo.

My First Christmas

Ho Ho Ho!

Man, the Christmas thing is pretty cool. I got to see all my Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, and Cousins. Not to mention some of my good pals. The best part was playing in the tissue paper and bows. Some of my favorite things that were given to me were : A homemade train set that my Grandpa made for me in his wood shop, holiday striped jammies, and a membership to the Seattle Aquarium from my Uncle Lee and Uncle Arthur. I have certainly enjoyed spending time with all my family and eating all kinds of good food. Say yes to Prime Rib!

10 Months Old Today

Today I am 10 Months Old. Wheeee! We have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Grammy and Grandpa but the weather is too bad and their flight has been cancelled. They were able to reschedule for Christmas Eve though. Stupid snow!
-I now have 8 teeth with another one on the way
-I walk by holding onto something but not all by myself all the time
- I point
- I say "Hot" and "On" as well as many other words that my mommies have no idea about
- I can go back down the stairs once I climb up them.
- I love computers.
Well, back to watching the snow.

More Milestones

Last night I was up in the middle of the night working on a new milestone. Of course I had to wait until today in order to actually try it out. You see, my mommies usually keep the gate on the stairs closed so that I can't fall back down them but today was different. Mommy opened the gate and I scaled the stairs in my normal fashion except this time, Mommy turned me around and showed me how to go back down the stairs. I watched her once and than after that, I was getting back down them without any help. Now, I can go up and down all day long. Not so sure that my Mommies are very excited about that though.

Cold and "Hot"

Brrrrrrr! I have had my first taste of very very cold temperatures. There is this crazy stuff falling from the sky and this time, it isn't bird poop. It sticks on the ground and is squishy and then it gets all shiny and hard. Boy, that stuff is really slick. When Momma and I were looking out the window, we saw a bunch of cars sliding around the corner. Yikes!
While I was busy being cold, I was also busy learning how to say "hot". When I am in the kitchen cooking with mommy, I practice touching things that are hot like the stove or the coffee cup. My first word that I can say now is "HOT". Hot! Hot! Hot! No burning though.

Steppin' Out

After 2 solid days of following my friend Devan around, I took my first steps all by myself. Granted, it was only a couple but it was pretty exciting. I am getting so much steadier on my feet. For right now, I am just as happy crawling around or hanging onto the back of Devan's shirt. Pretty soon I can take my dogs for a walk around the block. Well, I am off to bed so that I can practice my moves in peace and quiet. Night night.

My 9 month Checkup

According to the Dr. I have been doing some growing. I am now weighing in at 22.5lbs and 30" tall. She said I have reached all of my 9 month milestones and am already operating at a 1yr old level. I did get my flu shot and a couple of other vaccines. Nobody wants the Whooping Cough.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gobble Gobble!
This was my very first Thanksgiving. I have had so much fun. I know that Thanksgiving isn't just about fun though. It is also about giving thanks and being grateful for what I have. Today, I am thankful for above all, my mommies. We had a very busy day of visiting people and eating. First, I went and saw my Great Grandma and had turkey, stuffing, tators, etc. My Aunty was there too. She made tasty stuffing. Reminded me of the bread salad that she made once before. After my first dinner, we came home and I had a nap. When nap was over, we headed over to the Amundson's for dinner. Lots of fun and I got to play with some of my pals. Our final destination was to see Aunty Amy and Uncle Lee and Nana and Pop. It sure was nice to see all of them too. Grateful for my family and friends. Happy Turkey Day

I am 9 months old today

Where in the world does all the time go. One day I am being swaddled and cuddled and the next day, I am standing up and pushing my cart around. I have 7.5 teeth, bruises on my shins from my stair work, curls going in many different directions, and an endless amount of drool. I am not going to lie, life is goooood around here. The dogs are teaching me tons of new words and bad tricks. Olivia is always there to keep my face clean and Truman makes sure that my diapers stay clean. He is a real neat freak. My Aunties make sure that I am learning new things as well. Between all of my books and my Peruvian Fingerpuppets, I am gaining a lot of new material. They keep me busy. I like it.

Busy Man About Town

I am so busy these days, that I have had very little time to post on my blog. My biggest project right now is trying to figure out this whole walking upright thing. Mostly, I hang onto fixed objects and cruise around the house that way. Occasionally, I have found myself standing in the middle of a room without holding onto anything. Imagine my surprise when there are no handrails! Boom, down I go. It doesn't hurt though because I have padding on my bottom. Maybe I will be walking all by myself by the time Grammy and Grampa come.

Curly-Boy-Ardee

Not only am I a messy eater but I also have some curly hair working its way out. It is hard to tell from this picture, however if you were to see me after I get out of my bath, you would know that I speak the truth. Dinnertime gets a wee bit crazy around my chair. I have tried persimmons, swiss chard, cheetos, peri peri chicken (too spicy), pickles, etc. The list just keeps going and going.

Happy 1st Halloween

Tonight, I went to my first Halloween party over at my friend Harper's house. There were a whole bunch of kids there. From 8 weeks old on up to 6yrs old. We had chili, cupcakes, apples, bananas, and I had some apple cider. There were more tricks and treats but I was too little to partake. Next year though. Watch out! For an added bonus, my Nana stopped by and said hi. That was cool. good thing that I was looking sharp in my Pumpkin Costume. As if that all wasn't enough excitement, my Grammy sent me a whole box of treats. There were new books to read and look at, a ducky wash mitt, and a super cute puppy dog outfit. It even came with a hat! Man, I look good AND feel sharp.
Happy Halloweenie!

Busy Busy Weekend

This Halloween stuff is crazy! I was so busy this weekend. First, we went on the Georgetown Haunted Walking Tour and checked out some of the old historical homes and places in our 'hood. I didn't get scared though. I thought that I had seen some ghosts walking around on the playfield but it turns out they were just homeless people. My mistake. Saturday, we went with my friend Cecelia and her parents to Burien Boo-Tastic. Basically, trick or treating up and own Old Burien. I did wear my costume. Man, I look goooood. After my nap, we packed up and went over to Sanctuary and watched a silent movie with a pipe-organist. Super cool! We ended the weekend by going to Target and Costco. Completely pooped out I tell you.

I also got two more new teeth in. Right next to my two new top teeth. Looks like I will be eating meat very very soon. yum.

I am 8 Months Old Today

Hard to believe that 8 whole months have come and gone. I am getting to be such a big boy. Everyday, I seem to learn something new. Right now I am working on pulling myself up on stuff and walking around it. I still have to hold onto the furniture in order to walk around it. Some might say that I have pretty darn good balance. The stairs are providing me a very good challenge. So far I can only go up the stairs. I have not figured out how to get back down but I have found out where the toilet paper roll is. Wheee!!
Last month I only had 2 teeth and now I have 4. Two on the top and two on the bottom. All the better to bite with! Food is even more exciting. My mommies give me everything to try and I generally try all of it. Zucchini, apple glazed carrots, pasta, beans, and lets not forget raspberries. Yum!!!
For now, it is off to sleep. That seems to be where I work on all my new material.
Be well.

Fly the Friendly Skies

I saw my pal Troy on Friday. He is the best Flight Attendant that Alaska Airlines has. He flew in for a couple of days and so he came over and had oatmeal, cranberries, and apples with mommy and I. Troy swung me around and around like a ferris wheel. It was so much fun. Wheeee. The poopy thing is that he lives in Alaska right now because he is new to the airlines. We are keeping our fingers crossed that he will be able to come back in June. Sure miss him. See you soon Uncle Troy! Here is a big sloppy kiss. MWAH!

It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Today we went out to the Pumpkin Patch and checked out all these orange things. I had no idea that there was so much orange in the world. I got to try some hay and of course Kettle Corn. Honestly, I wasn't excited about going out today because I woke up with a bad cold. I have been blowing my nose all day. People thought I looked pretty cute in my costume though. They are right.

All I want for Halloween is my 2 Front Teeth...

I don't think I will make it all the way to Halloween. Those darn top teeth finally popped out last night. Man, they are sharp. Can't wait for them to come all the way in so I can really sink my teeth into some pizza. As soon as I let Mommy close enough to my mouth, I will let her take a picture of them for all to see.

It's Official

Yesterday was a big day for all of us. Mommies took me to this place where there is a Judge and lawyers and all kinds of pretty woodwork. Mommy said it was called a courtroom. We went there because it was our final hearing to have my Momma officially declared my other mommy. Now we are all the Thompson's and in 4 weeks I will have an official Birth Certificate to prove it. My Aunty Jodi and my Aunty Amy were both there too. Afterwards, we all went and had some dinner.

Grummy is Gone

I just got to spend the whole week with my Grummy. She came all the way from Hawaii just to hang out with me. My Momma had to go to Las Vegas for work so Grummy came and stayed with mommy and I to keep an eye on us. We had a lot of fun together. I showed her how I can climb stairs. It was really cool though because My Great Grandma, My Grummy, Aunty Jodi, and I all got to have dinner together. 4 Generations all together. Wow! Great Grandma is 93 1/2 years young. She seems pretty cool. I think I will go see her again very soon.

Bye Bye Grummy. I miss you. See you at Christmas

I'm 7 Months Old Today

Today is the day that I turned 7 months old. Guess what I got? My Grummy came to visit from Hawaii. We get to hang out together all week. Here are some things I have learned since last month:
-I pull myself up on everything
-I can clap and wave
-I stand up in my crib
-I crawl
-I take a bath in the big tub with my sponge letters and numbers. It is just like being at the pool!
-Food is fun! I can pick up my food with my fingers now

Right now I am workin on doing"ok" with my fingers

Learning to Clap

After patiently watching my mommies do this crazy motion with their hands, I have come to find out that it is called "clapping". I now know how to put my hands together and make noise. I clap at my mommies, my toys, whatever. I can also move my hand back and forth. Some may call it a "wave".
If you could see me right now, I would be waving goodbye to you.

I'm Starving!

Every big boy needs a big fork and spoon. Aunty Jodi said I could use these to eat my dinner. I took her up on the offer. I have to say that the pointy end of the fork was a bit sharp. Could be a potential eye hazard. Memo to self...

Crash!

Well it was bound to happen sooner rather than later. I took my first spill (that drew blood) when I slipped trying to grab on the chair. I fell right onto the foot rests of the dining room chair. My mommies grabbed some ice and put it on my eye real fast. There was a little bit of bleeding but I got to wear a tough guy band-aid. I am all better. It is only the first of many...it did hurt though.

Witness Protection Program

I am not sure what might be going on but today, we all went to the courthouse in Kent and mommy filled out some papers. First though, I got to see my first bad guys in red jumpsuits. They were going to a different court than us. Mom said red jumpsuits were bad. I like the pretty bracelets that they were wearing. So shiny. After we filled out papers, we got to go into this other room where a Judge sits and all the people sit on hard benches. We waited until mommy's name was called and then we went up and met the judge. From there it is a little fuzzy. Mommy said something about changing her last name. Maybe we are going undercover...

Guess what Mommies are doing this weekend?

Yep, that is me sitting up in my crib. Imagine the look on my Mommy's face when she put me down to naptime, turned her back to put some music on and turned back around only to find me sitting up all by myself in my crib. Her face was priceless!
My mommies are going to lower my bed this weekend because you know what comes next don't you...? Me lifting my leg up and over the side or me pulling myself up to standing. Apparently, mommy did that all the time in her crib.

6 Months Old

Boy time flies when you are a busy little baby boy. Here are some things I have learned so far:
- I can sit up on my own. Sometimes I like to sit up in my crib and really give mommy a heart attack.
- I love food. I sit at the table in my chair with my mommies. I eat everything that I can get into my mouth.
- Crawling around the house is cool. I use my tummy, legs, and arms to scoot all over the place. My favorite thing is to chew on cables that I am not supposed to have.
- Teething sucks but it is worth it.

Tuesdays are Good News Days

So guess what popped up in my mouth today? Give up? Another tooth sprouted up on me. This growing business is crazy. One day I am feeling good, looking sharp, etc and the next day I am fussy and tired. I have the proof though. One teeny tiny tooth right next to my other one that sprouted up ten days ago. Geesh, I'm not even 6mos old yet. Soon though...

Mixed Grill

I had a nice surprise tonight for dinner. My "Aunty" Heather came over and had some grub with me. She let me play with her earrings and stuff. Sometimes I go down and see her at her shop. It is called Helmet Head. My mommies get their hair cut down there too. Maybe when I get a little older, I can go down there and help out. Talk to the ladies (and gents too), sweep up, whatever. Drool. First I have to learn to walk.

Plant Species

My Aunty says that you are never to young to learn about the plants. Here we are checking out her flowers in her yard. She has the coolest plants. I even brought some of the plant inside with me. Oops. Looks like when I start walking, I will get to pull weeds. For now, I will stick to the garden tour while being carried.

Mac N' Cheese and Great Grandma's

There I am meeting my Great Grandma. I was born on her 93rd Birthday. We hung out tonight and had macaroni and cheese over at my Aunty Jodi's house. She didn't even mind when I stuck my hand on her face. It is possible that she said I was chunky. I just told her that I was bulking up to start walking in a few weeks. Ha!

Sure am glad that I finally got to meet G.Grandma. Hope that we get to hang out again soon. Maybe I will go visit her at the place she lives. We will see. Aunty also took me out in the yard so that I could look at some of her plants. If I am not careful, she will put me to work doing some weeding in her garden. Yikes! Can't wait to play with the chickens next time I go over there. Cluck! Cluck!

Pool Time

Today was Water Babies at the pool but Mommy was sick so Aunty Amy took me. Mommy watched from the sidelines. I showed Aunty how I like to chew on the toys and of course, how to do the Hokey Pokey. Afterwards, we went and had tater tots for the tiny tot!
I was worn out after all that excitement so I took a nice long nap. I had dreams of being the next Michael Phelps.

Grass is Good

Yep, thats me playing with grass. It was the first time I got to sit in the grass. The dogs were showing me how they like to play tug-o-war in the backyard. I am not ready to join them but that is okay. I am pretty happy pulling up the weeds.

8's are Lucky

Very big day on what is supposed to be the luckiest day of the year. Today, my first tooth has pushed itself up and out. That sure explains my pissy behavior. It is really cool though. Right side smack in the middle. Sweet! My other big news is that I got one whole Cheerio into my mouth all by myself. The other 30 found their way to the floor where Truman promptly swooped them up off the floor. He is so good about keeping my area clean and tidy. Good dog.

Even Big Boys Get the Blues

Boy oh boy, it has been a rough week. I got my first big cold and had an icky nose and cough. On top of it, I am trying my hardest to get a tooth in. If all that isn't hard enough, my legs want me to start crawling. It hurts like hell when i go "splat" on my face while doing my pushups. Mommy would really like for me to start sleeping at nighttime again. You see, I am on hiatus from sleeping through the night. Maybe I am too busy to be sleeping...

Tiny Tots

Some call them Tiny Tots others call them Water Babies. Either way, today was my first day sizing up the competition in the pool. I am the youngest one in my class and definitely the best looking one. My new swimtrunks were sweet. They have pineapples on them. Reminds me of Hawaii. The pool was fun though. Just like bath time. I got to paddle around with my foot in my mouth and look cute. Biggest downer is that they make me wear a diaper. No peeing in the pool Lewis!

5 Months Old Today

I can't believe how fast time goes. I am already 5 mos old today. That is my friend Cooper that is next to me. We rolled around on the floor and talked about our favorite toys.

Some things that I have learned so far: 1) how to sit up by myself 2) Feed myself with my bottle (thanks Grammy) 3) that I have boy parts 4) crying for attention because usually I don't need anything but it sure gets my moms attention 5) It hurts real bad when I pull on my hair. Ouch! 6) I love my Aunties and Uncles. They take good care of me.

Birthday Weekend

That's my Tia (Aunty) Jodi. She and mommy have the same birthday but they are two years apart. We went over to her house on Saturday to celebrate their birthdays which was on Sunday. It was a luau theme that is why I am sportin' my Hawaiian shirt. We feasted on Kahlua Pork, mac salad, rice, and bacon wrapped dates. Mmmmm tasty. Everything is better with bacon. I am pretty sure we have the same eyes although my vision hasn't really kicked in yet so what do I know.

In other very big news, mommy and I are starting swim lessons next week. Woo woo, I get to wear my board shorts in the pool. No peeing in the pool though. Going to be hard though because I love to pee in the bath. We will see. Guess that is why they say I have to wear swim diapers. Man, beat down already and I am only 5 months old.

Wanted: Slightly Mashed Bananas

Bananas make me smile. Can you tell? I like to put them between my fingers and squeeze. The best part is that I don't have to do the cleaning up. My dogs do it for me. Good thing bananas and carrots are safe for them. Guess the milk duds are off limits. Oops. Sorry Truman.

I Loves Me Pug

That's right people. I Loves Me Pug! That is Truman, Gomez, and Fester. I was missing my other pug, Pepper. Next time.

'Nuff said.

My 4th of July Festivities

Yep, those are my Uncles and my Aunty Amy.
We went to Lincoln Park and had a big picnic with the family. I sold seashells by the seashore. No not really. I did have a good time with everyone though.
It was a very busy weekend. On the 4th, we took my new friends Brandon and Erin (also our neighbors) over to our other friends, The Amundson's for a bbq. Mmmm, tasty. Baked Beans. I had a couple of helpings. I slept fine that night but the rest of my family didn't since the brats down the street were lighting off small rockets. Kaboom! Pretty good stuff on my first Fourth of July. I will be 18 when we celebrate 250 years as a nation. Whoa.
Food for thought. Discuss amongst yourselves.

4 month Update

Good Morning all,
I would like to report several things. First of all, it has been confirmed that I am indeed a big boy. I am in the 95th percentile for my weight (17.5 lbs) and my height (26.5 in). Holy Crap! Second of all, I survived my first shot. Got me the Polio vaccine in my leg with a free safari bandaid. It feels better all ready. Third of all, I have cute little webbed toes. I am truly a Seattleite. My new Superhero cape will be Aquaman.
The doctor also said that I can start adding new food to my repertoire. Carrots, avocadoes, banana, peas, etc. How is that for being a big boy. Thank goodness that I sleep through the night. I have to rest up so that I can eat more!

Bitchin Activity Mat

So my friend Devan had this really cool Rainforest Activity Mat that she wasn't using anymore and so she loaned it to me. This mat is the best thing ever! Well, not ever... Anyhow, I can lay on it and play with all the stuff up above me or I can roll over and play with all the cool textures on the mat. I get so tired playing that I then use it as my crib and take a nap. Mommy says that I am much happier when I have a nap. Ehh, what does she know? Ok, naps are good and now they are even better with my mat. Think of it as a yoga mat for babies.
P.S. I hate fireworks

My Hipster Friends

That is my hipster friend Garnet. He is Heather's boyfriend and he is in a band called The Blakes. Big stars they are. Garnet went with Heather and I are on our outing to Alki last week. I like him. On the way back home, I was exhausted from all that fresh air and saltwater so Garnet let me take a nap on his chest.

What a day. Its tiring to be a groupie. I jut can't stay up late like the others. Garnet will be gone on his tour for awhile anyhow so maybe I can get rested up for our next outing.

In the meantime, check out The Blakes. They are pretty awesome.

Artichokes are bad for baby

I would like to report that Artichokes do not agree with my fragile disposition. I spent most of day mad as hell because my tummy hurt. Mom really wanted to me to take a nap but I refused to be laid down in my crib. I just wanted to fall asleep on Mom. Every time she went to lay me down, I let her know how unhappy I was by screaming at the top of my lungs for a couple hours. Pretty sure it is working its way through.

P.S. Pretty cool booster seat eh?

4 Months old Today

Big day today. I turned 4 months old. Where does the time go? I started my day off with Momma and Dee May and a walk around Greenlake. Mommy was playing softball. After softball and walk time, I came home and had some lunch before we headed over to Aunty Jodi's house for a belated Father's Day with Grandma and Grandpa Keyes. Look, that is him holding me. Yea!

Very good day seeing my family. Even got to see Nana. She told us that Uncle Art is coming up here for the 4th of July. Sweet! Now I can show him my new stroller that he got me.

Big Boys Eat Rice

It's true, I had my first taste of rice cereal last night. A real spoon and everything. Mmmmm tasty. Things to know about Rice Cereal:

I can push it back out as fast as it comes back in
Take a bath after eating it because I had it all over me
It is a good time to learn about blowing bubbles. This stuff blows all over. Pretty impressive trajectory.

I can even sit up in my own chair. I have to sit with assistance but that is okay. I have a great view of everything. Finally, the dogs can't lick me. Yeah for booster seats!

Hangin' 10

Today we went to Ko'Olina Lagoons and played in the water. Myself, I hated the water and sand. I cried like a baby. Oh crap, I am a baby! Once I got my wet clothes off and settled into a nice dry towel, I layed under the palm tree while the breeze blew across my face and hair. Mom missed a spot on my face and forgot the sunscreen. Oops! A little burn on my cheek.

It was a pretty fun day and I really look sharp in my board shorts. They are SPF 50 so they protect my fragile skin. Thank you Aunty Amy. She bought them for me.

Peace Out Dudes!

Things I Have Learned in Hawaii

Aloha to all!

I have been having a very busy time learning new tricks. So far I have figured out how to:

- hold onto my own bottle and put it in my mouth
- Quadratic Equations
- Learn to fly a plane with Grandpa (see previous post)
- find my tongue
-pick sand out of my hair

I am still working on the whole rolling over thing. I keep getting my arm stuck underneath my belly.

Hang Loose!

Aloha!

I am here in sunny Hawaii visiting my Grandma and Grandpa. Man, I am having a super time. I saw the beach and the ocean for the very first time today. It was so cool. I was sporting my new shades that Grandma got me. They are camoflauge shades. Only the cool babies have them...like me!
Yesterday, we went out to the North Shore and got shave ice. YUM! I saw some surfers too. Maybe next time. I am still too little.
The best part so far is that I can lay around nearly naked. I love only being in my diaper. I feel free. Besides, it is a lot warmer here than at my house. Mostly though I lay under the ceiling fan and talk to my caterpillar that Grandma got me. My new best friend.

Peace out for now bro
